A security guard who was directing traffic in Mandaluyong City was run over after an SUV collided with and ran over him, Nico Waje reported in Unang Balita on Monday.
The victim was identified as Christian Joseph Floralde, who is currently recovering in a hospital.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. this Sunday at the intersection of Julio Vargas Avenue and St. Francis Street in Mandaluyong.
In the dashcam shot, guard Floralde can be seen stopping a white SUV, but instead of stopping, it hit him.
Instead of getting off the SUV, the driver ran over the lying victim.
According to the owner of the dashcam video, some enforcers chased the SUV but did not catch up with it.
According to the guard’s partner, Arceli Flores, Floralde had difficulty breathing due to the injury sustained to the middle part of his body.
According to the Mandaluyong Police, they already know the plate number of the runaway SUV.
“The Guard was hit by a White Toyota RAV 4 with plate number NCO 3781, which is now under verification to LTO (Land Transportation Office) in order to identify the owner and driver during the incident,” it said.
2 children killed when hit by Catanduanes LGU pick-up
Two minors died after being hit by a pick-up truck in Barangay Bislig, San Andres, Catanduanes, this Sunday at noon.
The Catanduanes provincial government owns the white pick-up.
According to a report released by the Catanduanes Police Provincial Office, a white pick-up was traveling along the road from Pandan town to Virac town when it accidentally took the other lane of the road in Barangay Bislig after it allegedly lost control.
It first allegedly hit a 9-year-old boy on a bicycle, followed by a 16-year-old girl walking about 10 meters away from the first victim.
They were both residents of the said barangay and were on their way home.
Both children were seriously injured and rushed to the hospital but were also declared dead on arrival.
The pick-up driver who will face the case of Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Multiple Homicide is already in police custody.
