Graduating cum laude student found dead in Al

Police are already investigating whether a 22-year-old girl who was supposed to graduate cum laude was raped after her body was found in Bacacay, Albay, early Monday morning.

The police did not make public the identity of the victim, who was found with a wound in the neck, the upper garment was up, and the lower garment was torn.

During the initial police investigation, the victim allegedly told her family she was going to town to pick up the money sent by her sibling this Sunday around 5:00 p.m.

Her family immediately reported to the authorities when she did not return home that night.

According to Bacacay Municipal Police chief Maj Irvin Bellen, the crime was discovered after the family received information that traces of blood were found near their area.

An unidentified man was also seen running from where the body was found.

Bellen theorized that the victim might have been raped because of the recent attempted rape incident in the area.

Police are already investigating a person of interest who is possibly responsible for the crime.

Authorities added that the victim would have graduated from the accountancy course as a scholar and cum laude.

MPD in full swing preparing for inauguration of Marcos Jr.

More than two weeks before the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., the Manila Police District is already ironing out its security plans.

According to MPD director Brig Gen Leo Francisco, about 4,400 policemen from their ranks will be deployed. In addition, he will ask for more force from the National Capital Region Police Office and the Camp Crame headquarters.

He said they want to simulate the deployment whenever there is a Traslacion on the Feast of the Black Nazarene, where many authorities ensure public security.

Francisco added that they had conducted several inspections at the National Museum where the inauguration will be held, and they have also had an initial meeting with the staff of the Department of Public Works and Highways, led by the National Museum, Department of Interior and Local Government and Marcos ’team.

The security plans include the MPD’s recommendation to temporarily close the roads of P. Burgos Street and Kalaw Avenue from Taft Avenue to Roxas Boulevard while also issuing a rerouting plan.
