Garbage trader dead after being hit and run in QC

A garbage trader died after being hit and run by a car in Quezon City on Tuesday night, James Agustin reported in Unang Balita on Wednesday.

The victim, Rodolfo Fontillas, 41, was crossing Kamuning Road when the car collided with him.

A concerned motorcycle rider tried to chase the car, but he did not catch up. Instead, the vehicle allegedly went straight to Kamias Road.

According to Fontillas’ brother Roma, the victim said he would collect garbage after dinner. He said he only found out about the incident when the barangay residents visited them.

The license plate of the crashed car was not retrieved, but it left broken glass from the headlight with an RFID sticker attached. According to the police, they will use the RFID sticker to identify the car’s owner.

Fontillas’ relative called on the driver to surrender.
