German national shot dead in Iloilo

A German national died after being shot inside his house in San Enrique town, Iloilo, Wednesday night.

The victim was identified as Otto Wolfgang Alexander Knorr, 70, of Barangay Camiri.

During the San Enrique police investigation, two men allegedly knocked on the victim’s gate. When the victim opened the gate, he was suddenly shot by unknown assailants.

The perpetrators immediately fled on a motorcycle. The German national was declared dead on arrival when he was taken to the hospital after sustaining severe head injuries.

A 9mm caliber pistol bullet casing, a .40 caliber pistol bullet casing, and a deformed slug were recovered at the scene of the incident.

It was found out that the victim was alone in their house because his Filipina wife was in Negros Occidental.

One of the motives the police look at is the German national’s money loan business.

The San Enrique PNP is continuing to investigate the incident and identify the culprits.

“[My wife] Kate and I express our deep condolences to the bereaved family, including Veronica, who had followed her footsteps in providing quality journalism to a world desperately needing correct information,” he added.
