Gasoline, LPG price to increase this month

There will be an increase in the price of gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the first days of November, oil firms said Monday.

Starting at 4 pm on Monday, the price of LPG will increase by P3.10 per kilo, according to Petron.

Petron also announced that the price of AutoLPG will increase by P1.73 per liter.

This is the sixth consecutive month there has been an increase in the price of LPG. In total or since June, the price of LPG has reached P21.90 per kilo or more than P240 per 11-kilo tank.

As a result, sales of each LPG tank in Metro Manila have reached P870 to P1,080.

Meanwhile, oil firms also announced that there would be an increase in gasoline prices and a reduction in diesel and kerosene prices on Tuesday, November 2nd.

“‘Yong overall direction is still pataas. Sa last quarter kasi usually malaki ang pangangailangan sa langis,” said Oil Industry Management Bureau Director Rodela Romero.

Since the beginning of the year, the total price increase has reached P21.95 per liter of gasoline, P18.10 per liter of diesel, and P15.74 per liter of kerosene.

Inflation for the bottom 30% income households at the national level slowed down to 5.0 percent in September 2021, from 5.3 percent in  2021. In September 2020, it was posted at 2.8 percent.

The country’s average  for this particular group of consumers from January to September  was registered at 4.9 percent.

The downtrend in the inflation for the bottom 30% income households during the month was primarily due to the slower annual increase of the transport index at 4.0 percent, from its double-digit annual growth rate of 10.4 percent in  2021.
