Informant says game-fixing behind abduction of cockfight players

An informant shared some details on the trend of game-fixing or “panyunyupe” in cockfighting.

In the previous episode of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” the informant hid under the name “Pedro,” who said that he stopped doing such game-fixing in July 2021 when there were already sabungeros missing.

According to Pedro, a few months before the game, those involved in the game-fixing are already looking for a financier who can bet big on the opponent.

“Halimbawa po tumalpak pa ako ng P200,000 sa isang tip sa isang sultada po na tip, 40% po sa kaniya dun, 60 percent sa akin,” he said.

It is said that those involved in game-fixing also buy beautiful gamecocks from big-time and well-known sabungero breeders. But instead of conditioning and strengthening, the gamecock is said to be weakened a few months or a few weeks before the fight.

“Pinapabugbog lang nila sa kapuwa manok. Hindi pinapakain ng tama, maling pagkain ang ibibigay,” according to Pedro, who also said that the gamecock is given a lot of water to drink so that it becomes more bloody when injured in battle and will die immediately.

He also allegedly uses a dummy account with the group chat members of the “manyunyupe,” and the one who gives the “tip” cannot be contradicted.

According to Pedro, the most troubling in the situation is the most financier of the group, while those who are sent to the cockpits are mostly ignorant.

“Inooperan nila ng malaking presyo para pumayag kahit hindi nila kakilala. Ang target po talaga nila is wala mga pamilya, malayo sa magulang para kapag halimbawang sumablay wala na pong hahabulin kahit sino. Kumbaga malis po yung trabaho,” he continued.

It will be recalled that a relative of one of the missing cockfight players said that before it disappeared, he had talked to them and said that the gamecocks had lost.

During the last Senate hearing on the case of the missing sabungeros that have reached 31, it appeared that there was no CCTV in the cockpits where the victims were last seen and went.

The highest number of people were missing in Laguna with 19, six in Manila, six in Batangas, two in Bulacan, and one was abducted from his house in San Pablo, Laguna.
