Filipino facing trial for posting woman’s phone number on Facebook in UAE

A Filipino faces trial in the United Arab Emirates for posting a Filipina’s phone number on Facebook without her permission.

The case has been referred to the Fujairah Federal Criminal Court, and the 23-year-old Filipino most likely will be tried on charges of humiliation and defamation.

The case was referred to the court system based on the fact that the man made it appear like the girl was a masseuse. Investigations by the public prosecutor’s office showed the 22-year-old girl filed charges against the man for posting her mobile number on Facebook and announcing she was offering massage services.

Investigation into the incident revealed that the boy did in fact post the Facebook message due in part to a “difference” with the girl.
