Fil-Am psychologist found dead in Brooklyn, New York

A Filipino-American psychologist who was first reported missing on June 11 in Brooklyn, New York, has been found dead.

The victim was identified as Karl Clemente, 27.

According to his father, Alex Clemente, his son was supposed to go to a concert on Sunday night, June 11, at the Brooklyn Mirage Arena with his friends. But it is said that the security personnel did not let him in because the victim had already been drinking.

It is said that his friends left the victim alone outside the concert venue.

He said he last texted his friend at 9:53 in the evening.

In security footage obtained by the New York Police Department (NYPD), the victim was last seen running into a lumber warehouse not far from the Brooklyn Mirage Arena.

This Friday morning, Clemente’s body was found floating in a creek behind the lumber warehouse where the victim was last seen.

Before the victim’s body was found, a concerned citizen sent his wallet to his parents’ house in upstate New York.

It is said that the concerned citizen picked up the victim’s wallet inside the lumber warehouse.

According to the victim’s father, Alex Clemente, his son Karl’s cellphone and backpack are missing.

The NYPD has not yet released any information related to the case. The victim’s body is scheduled to undergo a medical autopsy.

The Philippine Consulate General in New York extended its condolences to the Clemente family.

According to Consul General Senen Mangalile, they will focus on Clemente’s case to find out if there was foul play in his death.

“Nakikiramay po tayo sa pamilya. Isang bagay ito na tututukan natin upang malaman kung ano dahilan ng kinamatay ng kababayan natin. Rest assured na the Philippine Consulate General will always be monitoring and follow up this case,” said Mangalile.

“Kahapon po ang Konsulado natin kausap natin sila pero hindi natin alam ang kalagayan ng kanilang anak. So magre-reach out po tayo sa kanila to offer any assistance na we can do from our side. Pero ngayon po, taos pusong pakikiramay muna sa nangyari sa kanilang anak,” he added.
