Former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Karen Reyes revealed on Mother’s Day that she already has two children with Silent Sanctuary lead vocalist Sarkie Sarangay.
Reyes unfolded her three-year long-secret on her latest vlog. “I’m so happy and proud na ipapakilala ko na sila sa inyo ngayon. Actually hindi ko naman itinago, it’s just gusto ko lang ng privacy for them, for us nung time na ‘yon. Ako po ay ganap ng mommy,” Reyes said.
Reyes said she gave birth to her eldest child, Olivia, on June 16, 2017, and to her baby boy, Lucas, on July 28, 2019.
“‘Yung first baby ko si Olivia, ginagawa ko ‘yung ‘Exs and Whys’ ginagawa ko ‘yung buong movie na ‘yon natapos ko siya, nag-press con pa ako noon, fifth month ko yata ‘yon, second quarter. Natakot ako kaya ‘di ko nasabi agad. Natakot ako dahil hindi ko alam kung tatanggapin pa ako ng mga tao, kung may babalikan pa ako sa showbiz. Sobrang hindi ko alam kung ano ang gagawin ko. Natakot ako sa judgments. Naiiyak ako. Ayaw ko sanang gawing emotional itong vlog na ito, gusto ko good vibes lang. These are tears of joy. Finally nasabi ko na siya,” Reyes said.
In April 2018, Reyes confirmed her then rumored relationship with lead vocalist Raymund “Sarkie” Sarangay of the band Silent Sanctuary.
Reyes and Sarangay have a 14-year age gap. Karen admitted that during their courtship period of half a year, she didn’t expect their age gap to be that big.

The ABS-CBN actress also showed a picture of her and the Sarangay taken at the christening ceremony of their baby girl.
“May mga lumabas noon na picture na nagpabinyag kami which is totoo po ‘yon. Hindi ko naman siya totally itinago. More of gusto ko lang ‘yung privacy ng mga bata,” Reyes explained.
“Why am I sharing this now? Shini-shasre ko siya ngayon dahil ang dami kong realizations ngayong quarantine. Siguro na-realize ko lang na bakit ko pa kailangang matakot eh nandito na ang lakas ko. Nandito na ‘yung mga nagpapalakas sa akin,” she added
“Natatakot kasi ako noon dahil sa judgment. Ngayon napagdesisyunan ko, finally nagkaroon ako ng lakas ng loob na ipakilala sila. Ako siguro ‘yung tao na gusto kong ipagsigawan. Open book kasi ako, ‘di ako mapakali kapag tatanungin ako, ‘may baby ka na pala’. ‘Di ko masabi na hindi, ‘di ko masabi na oo. So inilabas ko na siya ngayon,” Reyes said.
“Shini-share ko lang ito ngayon, siguro dahil Mother’s Day deserve ko rin naman na mabati niyong lahat ng Happy Mother’s Day. I’m very happy with my two children and I’m so blessed. Sila talaga ang nagpabago ng buhay ko ngayon and masasabi ko na I’m very happy,” she added.
