The ex-girlfriend of Stephen Henry Giers has accused him of sharing her “private photos” with her family. However, the American has claimed that he is being scammed by a Nigerian.

A 53-year-old Filipina has filed a cybercrime complaint against her American ex-boyfriend, accusing him of sharing “private” photographs.

The victim identified only as “Mila” told police that her boyfriend, 67-year-old Stephen Henry Giers, started trying to shame her after she broke off their relationship.

However, in a Facebook post yesterday, Mr Giers appeared to offer another version of events. He wrote: “What can you do if a person is harassing you and trying to extort money from you by using personal property and stolen pics?” In a further comment below this post, he suggested that the culprit was a Nigerian and said he had reported the matter to Facebook.

According to Mila’s version of events, she finished her year-long relationship with Mr Giers after discovering that he was active on dating sites. The couple had met online before the Boston man decided to retire to Bacoor, Cavite.

She claims that when she attempted to finish with him, he starting posting her private photos online, and sending some to her relatives.

In a tearful interview on GMA News, Mila also raised the issue that Mr Giers had apparently reneged on an agreement to fund her children’s education. She said: “I will help you with your children, he said, I will help with learning. Then when he came here, he gradually changed.”

Mila has now filed a formal complaint against Mr Giers at the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group, which is investigating.

Last week we reported on a similar cybercrime allegation, with the arrest of a Filipino-Pakistani man for sharing nude photographs of his ex-girlfriend on social media. Abdul Razaq Bukhari was nabbed by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) cybercrime agents during an entrapment operation in Quezon City.
