While Gonzales never verified the story, fans rushed to congratulate the actress and express their well wishes to the soon-to-be-married couple.

Gonzales sparked speculation about her dating status in 2018 when she stated that she was “single but not available.”

Later, the actress confessed that she has a non-showbiz suitor with whom she traveled to Japan.

According to Gonzales, Gonzales did not name the individual, but he is the brother of Claudia Barretto’s boyfriend, Basti Lorenzo.

Gonzales has maintained a veil of secrecy over her love life ever since. The actress hasn’t made any social media posts that strongly suggest she’s dating.

However, it turns out that she has chosen to remain silent for a reason. “I think it’s for the best,” Erich Gonzales told a fan in her Q&A vlog in 2019.

“I want to protect something so precious to me, something beautiful. I don’t want to ruin it so sa akin na lang iyon,” she added.

In Erich’s vlog, when she celebrated his 30th birthday in September 2020, the actress had a preview of her love life.

Erich did not show Mateo’s face on the vlog, but it can be inferred that Mateo was with her because she was caught on camera with a man driving the car they were riding in.

Erich Gonzales is a contract artist of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic. She started her showbiz career at 14, as a contestant of the reality talent search Star Circle Quest. She came to prominence in her lead role, Katorse.

After winning Star Circle Quest, she changed her last name from Gancayco to Gonzales, her mother’s maiden name. Because of the start of her entertainment career, Erich finished her high school years at ABS-CBN Distance Learning Center. She attended college at Trinity University of Asia, where she majored in mass communication.
