On January 28, news broke that a warrant of arrest had been issued to arrest Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee in connection with the cyber libel case filed against him by DUMPER Representative Claudine Bautista-Lim in August 2021.
Other celebrities such as Agot Isidro, Pokwang, and Ogie Diaz were acquitted in the case, because according to the prosecutor’s office, only the three expressed opinions on their Twitter accounts; Enchong, on the other hand, was a direct accusation that allegedly caused the representative’s name to be tarnished and her pregnancy to be affected.
Showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin advised the Kapamilya actor to just surrender to the authorities following the report that the actor had an arrest warrant, but it did not arrive at his given address in Quezon City. It was also found out that the actor does not actually live here, and it is just a boarding house.
“Ito ang pinakamagandang gagawin ni Enchong dito, ang voluntary surrender,” Cristy’s advice is that when she often receives a warrant of arrest because of the cases filed against her by the artists she opposes because of her exposes.
“Hindi po pwedeng pagtaguan ito dahil lahat po ng sangay ng pulisya ay pinadadalhan (ng warrant of arrest),” she added.
Enchong Dee allegedly hiding from authorities
For Cristy, it seems that the actor is not hiding and is currently ‘looking for the right time’ and asking for advice from his legal team.
If you look at Enchong Dee’s Instagram posts, you can see that he went to Naga City for a vacation during the holiday season.
On January 13, he thanked Gawad Tanglaw for the ‘Jury Award for Film Acting Excellence’ for the film ‘Alter Me’ with Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
“Maraming Salamat Gawad Tanglaw sa pagkilala. Sharing this recognition sa lahat ng naging parte ng shooting namin ng Alter Me,” said Enchong.
On January 21, he posted for the endorsement of an air conditioning product.
“Proper ventilation is always a must when I workout lalo na mas-safe sa panahon ngayon na mag-exercise sa mga bahay natin,” he said.
Since the issue regarding the cyber libel case erupted, nothing has been heard from Enchong Dee.
