Election 2022: Candidates who file candidacy today, October 4

The presentation of the certificate of candidacy (COC) of those who want to run in next year’s elections will continue this Monday.

At the Commission on Elections (Comelec) tent at a hotel in Pasay City, among those who filed their candidacies were Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso for the presidency and Dr. Willie Ong as vice president of Aksyon Demokratiko.

If they win, Moreno and Ong want to promote unity in the supposedly long-divided country.

Moreno is also confident that having a vice doctor during a pandemic is a big advantage.

There were also COC candidates for the presidency who were independent, including Juanita Trocenio, who conveyed her message through the song.

Like the PDP-Laban party, there are also 2 factions in the self-proclaimed Philippine Green Republican Party.

On Friday, Laurencio Yulaga and Alexander Lague filed a COC for the presidency and vice.

But on Monday, the second faction arrived, led by Leo Cadion, who will run for president, and his vice Princess Sunshine Amirah Magdangal.

Among party lists, among those who filed is the Gabriela party list, with the first nominee being the current representative Rep. Arlene Brosas.

According to Brosas, their group has not given up on the desire to unite the opposition, so they have not yet endorsed the presidency.

Brosas also vowed that they would continue to fight for the rights of marginalized women.

In Pasay City, Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano filed a COC to run for mayor again.

The mayor filed with his vice mayor Boyet del Rosario, and councilors included in his ticket.

In Pasig, Jay Eusebio, a relative of the Eusebios who used to lead the city, has also submitted his candidacy for the second district council.

Eusebio’s father is a cousin of former mayor Bobby Eusebio and former representative Ricky Eusebio.

Eusebio is from the private sector, and this is the first time he will enter politics.

In Laguna, 3rd District Rep. Sol Aragones filed a COC for the governorship.
