Doctor linked to Salilig hazing gives affidavit to NBI

Along with his lawyer, the “medical doctor” came to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and allegedly did not respond to the then-unconscious John Matthew Salilig, a hazing victim.

The NBI subpoenaed the doctor after being ordered by Sen. Francis Tolentino, chairman of the Committee on Justice and Human Rights, to find the “doctor” and find out if it is a real doctor.

The senator asserted in the Senate hearing on March 20 that there may have been a violation of his oath by the doctors who had to respond to his duty, where he allegedly should have looked at the patient Salilig who was said to be unconscious.

The doctor brought to the NBI the documents, including his affidavit with an attachment of screenshots of his conversation with his cousin “Lee” when “Lee” was still at Scottie’s house in Parañaque.

In the screenshot, on February 18, Lee asked his doctor cousin if he would pick him up.

The doc asked more and called to find out where Lee was but was told not to tell and said “San Pedro ata.”

The second call was still not answered and the doctor already texted the cousin, “brod na doctor kamo susundo sayo.”

Lee even sent directions to his cousin the doctor where they were going until he said “dto na, tara na sakay na ayos ka lang?”

Lee texted: “Samahan na lang kita sa labas”.

The doctor added: “Hirap ka pa rin huminga? Maputla ka pa?”

The doc asked Lee twice if he was still pale.

Until Lee sent a picture and the doc advised the cousin to “put your feet on the pillow a little high “sabay nagpadala ng picture ng first aid na dapat gawin.”

BP was even sent to Lee.

In the end, the doc also has some advice for the cousin.

Meanwhile, in the news team’s interview with the doctor, he insisted that he had nothing to do with the hazing and that he did not know of any unconscious patients.

“Gusto ko i-clear ang participation which is wala naman akong participation.
May nakausap ako sa messenger na which is hindi ko alam kung sino then when I arrived sa place sa Paranaque, wala akong nakitang kakaiba, wala akong nakitang katawan na nakahandusay. Kung may nakita tayo, we will give them the right medical assistance. Nandon daw ako sa place ng initiation pero wala naman,” he said.

He also gave a message to Tolentino after saying that the doctor who did not help John Matthew should have his license revoked.
