Meanwhile, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año boasted that the crime rate in the country has dropped by 34% under the leadership of the Duterte administration.

According to Año, the public also feels safer now due to the constant presence of the police and government support programs in the communities.

The secretary said that the initiatives of the police and the government are the reason why the recorded crimes in the country have dropped significantly.

He also reported that from a total of 139,111 incidents in 2016, the number of index crimes dropped to 41,260 in 2020 and 27,523 in the first nine months of this year.
