A Danish national allegedly beat up a woman in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday afternoon.
During the police investigation, the Danish national became angry after the woman spread a rumor that he was using illegal drugs and had unlawful activities in their barangay.
The Danish national found out the information from his friend.
According to officer-in-charge of the San Carlos City Police Cpt. Mark Angelo Junco, the 45-year-old woman, was walking in Barangay 1 when the foreigner suddenly approached and beat her.
The suspect was immediately arrested.
He was charged with grave threat but was released from prison immediately after posting bail.
In February, the Danish was also detained after complaining of going crazy due to excessive drunkenness and stubbornness to go with the responding police officers.

Meralco’s meter reading continues amid 2-week lockdown
Meralco will continue its meter reading even if Manila and its neighboring provinces are returned to a tighter lockdown.
Meralco explained that the Department of Energy is also monitoring the movement of Meralco as the number of complaints on the bill goes up.
“Ang panawagan ko sa Meralco is to be more responsible and empathize with consumers dahil titingan namin lahat ng corrective measures nila,” said Energy chief Alfonso Cusi.
Meralco is appealing to local government units to allow their staff to read the meters.
“Di na nga tayo magreresort doon sa tinatawag na estimated, kung ano na ang aktwal meter reading, yun na ang basehan and the actual meter reading will be your consumption,” said Meralco spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga.
Meralco reiterated that they would not issue a disconnection notice until the end of September.
Meanwhile, the reduction in electricity prices for the August bill is sharp.
“At the worst case scenario, we have to lower rates sakaling magkaroon ng adjustment na pataas, parang sa ngayon di natin nakikita yun,” said Zaldarriaga.
Meralco will announce on Monday whether they will reduce or increase the bill, but in case it goes down, it will be the 4th month in a row that there was a decrease in the electric bill since May.
