Police arrested a father who allegedly raped his daughter for two years in Manila. The suspect had been abusing his daughter since she was 12-years-old.
According to Jonathan Andal’s report in Balitanghali, the suspect first molested his stepdaughter, who was also a minor at that time.
The report said the victim’s grandmother reported the suspect to police in Sampaloc.
The grandmother, Cristy was with Denise (not her real name), who allegedly saw the 49-year-old suspect molesting his 15-year-old daughter.
As per the police, the suspect started abusing his daughter in 2017, when she was only 12 years old.
The police said the father would rape his daughter twice a month.
But before the suspect molested his daughter, he first molested his stepdaughter in 2013 when the victim was only 12 years old.
“Natatakot daw po sila (mga biktima) kasi nagbabanta po yung tatay nila na kapag nagsumbong daw papatayin daw po niya yung buong pamilya,” said Police Corporal Jenilyn Baggay of Women and Children’s Desk of Manila Police District Station 4.
(They (the victims) were afraid because their father threatened them that if they reported him, he would kill their whole family.)
According to the children’s grandmother, the suspect was reported to the police before but was not charged because his wife did not want to pursue a case.
The suspect denied the allegations, saying that his mother-in-law was just angry with him.
He also said he had no malice when he touches his children.
The suspect is now being detained at the Sampaloc Police Station and facing a rape charge.
According to police, the victim’s mother is now determined to pursue a complaint against the head of their family.
