Cop arrested for molesting pastor’s son inside police station

A policeman fell in jail after he allegedly molested a 15-year-old boy inside a station in Las Piñas City.

On Wednesday, Mai Bermudez reported in Unang Balita that the incident happened inside the Las Piñas City Police sub-station 1 office on Tuesday.

The suspect allegedly took advantage of the incident while the victim’s mother, a pastor assigned to the station, was conducting morning devotion and Bible study.

While the pastor was preaching, the young man came out of the station and was approached by the police, who served as a desk officer at the time.

The police allegedly touched the young man’s left shoulder and chest until the victim’s pants and genitals were touched.

The suspect’s molestation was not over. He let the young man into the office, and there he continued the lewdness.

The victim’s mother immediately complained to Las Piñas City Police.

“Noong una kasi, ang sabi ng nanay, hinawak-hawakan. But when I personally interviewed his son, of course in front of the mother, mas malalim doon ‘yung ginawa,” said Police Colonel Jaime Santos, chief of Las Piñas City Police.

(At first, the mother said the suspect only touched her son. But when I personally interviewed his son, of course, in front of the mother, what was done went deeper.)

“Kami naman, we don’t tolerate such a thing, kaya ang ginawa po namin, ako bilang Chief of Police, I personally went to the sub-station and we effected the arrest,” added Santos.

(As for us, we don’t tolerate such a thing, so what we did, I as Chief of Police, I personally went to the sub-station and we effected the arrest.)

The victim positively pointed out the suspect at the Las Piñas Police jail.

“Nakakalungkot kasi ilang years na lang magre-retire na siya. Wala naman siyang record kundi ito lang, tapos may mga allegations at speculations about him before na unsubstantiated. Ito lang talaga ‘yung nag-materialize na siya talaga kasi ‘yung tinuturo, may complainant,” said Santos.

(It’s sad because he will retire in a few years. He has no record but this, then there are allegations and speculations about him before that are unsubstantiated. This is the only one who really materialized because he was the one being identified as the suspect. There was a complainant.)

The suspect, who is set to be charged with sexual assault and violation of Republic Act 7610, refused to give a statement.

The sub-station commander of the Alabang Zapote station is also set to explain why the rape was allegedly allowed to happen right inside the station.
