The mother and friends of Filipino comedian Kim Idol asked for prayers as the former “Eat Bulaga” host is now in critical condition at the hospital.
It was learned that Kim Idol or Michael Taniera Argente in real life worked as frontliner in a quarantine facility. But her mother, Maria Argente, clarified that Kim’s illness has nothing to do with COVID-19.
Maria shared in a Facebook post that Kim suffered complications due to arteriovenous brain malformation (AVM).
“Sa mga nakakakilala kay kim idol patuloy tayong manalangin para sa kanya. sinuong nya ang kanyang buhay para sa nangangailangan ng tulong bilang frontliner. nd sya nahawa ung AVM un ang naging dahilan napagod at puyat marahil,” she said.
Kim previously revealed that he had AVM back in 2015.
“Masakit na masakit yung ulo tapos nabubundol ako sa mga wall. Parang nawala ‘yung right periphery ko kaya hindi rin ako makabasa,” he said about his condition.
“Nung di ko na matiis ‘yung sakit, dinala ako ng mga kaibigan ko sa ospital at doon nakita sa CT-Scan na nagdudugo ‘yung utak ko,” he added.
According to Mayo Clinic, a brain arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a “tangle of abnormal blood vessels connecting arteries and veins in the brain. The arteries are responsible for taking oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the brain. Veins carry the oxygen-depleted blood back to the lungs and heart. A brain AVM disrupts this vital process.”

Comedian Kim Idol in critical condition
In a recent Instagram post, Kim proudly showed a picture of him wearing a PPE while serving as a frontliner amid the pandemic.
Comedian Teri Onor meanwhile posted that Kim was already in life support.
Another Kapuso comedian Super Tekla also shared he called Kim before he was hospitalized.
“Ayan di ka nagsasabi Ng Nararamdaman mo tinawagan kita dahil nararamdam ko yung post mo may Something sabi mo OK ka LNG sabi ko kahit,puntahan,kita Kim idol Teh kaya Pa yan wag na wag kang bibitaw Lumaban ka KAya mo yan…” said Tekla in his post.
Tekla asked the public for Kim and his baby’s recovery who would undergo surgery due to anorectal malformation congenital disability.
