The church of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente in La Paz, Abra, was damaged after the magnitude 6.4 earthquake that hit Lagayan, Abra this Tuesday night.
In the report of GMA Regional TV News “One Central Luzon,” some photos show the damage that the church suffered, which had a crack in the wall and ceiling, and the belfry gave way.
It was learned that the church was previously damaged in the earthquake that occurred just last July.
The video also showed the damage to a house in Barangay Madamba in Dingras, Ilocos Norte.
On social media, local governments posted emergency contact numbers for those in need of immediate assistance due to the impact of the earthquake.
The LGUs include Baguio City, Abra province, Ilocos Norte, Isabela, and Pangasinan.
Tuguegarao Mayor Maila Ting Que also posted a video when he went around his constituency to find out the effect the earthquake had on them.
In Batac, Ilocos Norte, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) announced that the Barani to Ben-agan Bridge is impassable.

Church, several houses damaged by earthquake in Abra
The rescue unit immediately responded when the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) in Ilocos Sur received a message that someone sought help for an injured schoolmate in a dormitory at the University of Northern Philippines.
According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) of Abra, 10 people were injured in the earthquake.
“So far, meron tayong anim na individuals na injured sa Lagayan, isa sa San Quintin, at tatlo po sa San Juan,” said PDRRMO officer-in-charge Arnel Valdez.
Last July, a magnitude 7 earthquake shook Abra. It was felt in the National Capital Region and neighboring provinces.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the earthquake, which was first reported at magnitude 7.3, occurred at 8:43 a.m. and its epicenter was found 17.64°N, 120.63°E – 003 km N 45° W of the town of Tayum. It has a depth of 17 kilometers. Such an earthquake is tectonic in origin.
