Children in QC to be vaccinated near playground

If the Manila Zoo is one of the COVID-19 vaccination sites for children in Manila, the one in Quezon City is the Circle of Joy Park in the Quezon Memorial Circle.

This is the local government’s strategy to encourage children aged 5 to 11 to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Children can play with a swing, slide, and other things inside the wide playground after the vaccination.

There are also rides nearby that they can enjoy with the whole family.

The vaccination itself will be held in a covered court to keep the children safe if it rains.

A nearby basketball court will also be used for vaccinating children.

The Quezon City local government is preparing for the pilot vaccination of children aged 5 to 11, which will be held at the SM Skydome from February 4 to 6.

There are also three hospitals in the city that will serve as vaccination sites: Philippine Children’s Medical Center, National Children’s Hospital, and Philippine Heart Center.

The city is also planning to give away prizes-such as face paintings or balloons-for children who will be vaccinated.

Vaccination vs. COVID-19 in pharmacies begins in Cebu City

Vaccination against COVID-19 started on Wednesday in pharmacies in Cebu City as part of the country’s ongoing intensification of vaccination efforts.

Pharmacies were first opened in Lahug and Fuente Osmena, which accepted those aged 18 to 59.

The local government targets making the pharmacies inside the mall as vaccination sites.

Vaccination will continue at various malls, hotels, and gymnasiums in the city and at the city hall.

In a statement, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez thanked Rose Pharmacy in Cebu City for participating in the COVID-19 vaccination drive.

Last month, COVID-19 vaccines were distributed to selected pharmacies in Metro Manila. It was later extended to Baguio City.

At last record, 59.1 million are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Philippines. In addition, about 7.5 million have already received booster shots.
