CBCP: Church can help increase public’s vaccine confidence

The Catholic church believes the Church can help raise public confidence in vaccines.

In an interview with Teleradyo, Catholic Bishops’ of the Philippines committee on public affairs Executive Secretary Jerome Secillano said vaccination would be more encouraged if the offer to turn churches into vaccination sites is accepted.

“Kapag maraming vaccination sites, maraming maa-accommodate na mga Pilipino. Pangalawa, kapag maraming vaccination sites, hindi ka na pipila so hindi masyadong tedious,” said Secillano.

(When there are many vaccination sites, many Filipinos can be accommodated. Second, you will not have to fall in line when there are many vaccination sites, so it is not too tedious.)

“Pangatlo, kapag halimbawang ginagamit ang simbahan o pasilidad ng simbahan bilang vaccination site, baka magbigay din ito ng confidence booster sa mga Pilipino kasi simbahan na ‘yan,” he added.

(Third, if, for example, the church or church facility is used as a vaccination site, it may also give a confidence booster to Filipinos because that is the church.)

Apart from vaccination sites, some churches also offer counseling for those who want to get vaccinated.

Today, some schools, malls, and other facilities are being used to launch the government’s vaccination drive.

DPWH will conduct road repair on EDSA and C5 side in QC

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will begin repairs to parts of EDSA and Circumferential Road 5 or C5 in Quezon City this Friday, at 11 pm.

According to the agency, the road repair will be specifically carried out in the northbound direction of EDSA near Kaingin Road in Quezon City.

There will also be road reblocking activities on the northbound section of C-5 Road starting on the C.P. Garcia, 3rd lane starting at the sidewalk past Rajah Matanda, as well as past Highland Drive.

According to the DPWH, it already has clearance from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Due to this, motorists are advised to expect a possible slowdown in the flow of traffic in the area so they can also temporarily look for an alternative route to avoid traffic.
