Bongbong-Sara tandem leads in latest Pulse Asia survey

Leading the latest Pulse Asia survey as the “most preferred” for president and vice president in the 2022 election is the tandem of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte-Carpio.

According to a survey released Wednesday based on the responses of 2,400 respondents from Dec. 1 to 6, more than half or 53 percent said they would vote for Marcos as president, while 20 percent said they would vote for Vice President Leni Robredo if the elections were already held during the survey period.

This was followed by Isko Moreno, Manny Pacquiao, and Ping Lacson.

Antonio Parlade, Leody de Guzman, and Norberto Gonzales were almost zero percent.

According to Pulse Asia, a majority in all geographic areas and socioeconomic classes would have voted for Marcos if the election had been held during the survey period.

Pulse Asia’s website showed that Marcos led in the National Capital Region (61 percent), Balance Luzon (51 percent), Visayas (42 percent), and Mindanao (64 percent).

Meanwhile, Robredo garnered 14 percent in the NCR, 24 percent in Balance Luzon, 42 percent in the Visayas, and 10 percent in Mindanao.

Bongbong Marcos likewise outpaced other presumptive candidates in terms of voters from Class ABC (53 percent), Class D (54 percent), and Class E (49 percent).

Marcos camp was pleased with the results of the Pulse Asia survey.

“Nakikita ng tao na talagang maayos, hindi palaaway, hindi basag-ulo at hindi mapagpatol at talagang very humble ang pagkatao ni Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos,” said Rodriguez, spokesman ni Marcos.

(People see that Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos is really good, not quarrelsome, not quarrelsome and not aggressive, and really very humble.)

In a statement, Robredo’s camp said it was “clear” that the fight was allegedly between him and Marcos.

Meanwhile, Moreno’s camp thanked them for taking the lead in choosing without their first choice.

In the vice-presidential post, Sara Duterte-Carpio led in National Capital Region (45 percent) and Mindanao (82 percent) while Sotto led in Balance Luzon (36 percent) and Visayas (38 percent).

Duterte-Carpio led other vice-presidential aspirants in terms of voters from Class ABC (47 percent), Class D (44 percent), and Class E (48 percent).
