Blacklisted Korean pimp arrested in Intramuros

A South Korean man wanted in his home country for pimping, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon at the Bureau of Immigration’s (BI) head office in Intramuros.

The fugitive, identified as Oh Myunggyun, 49, was intercepted after attempting to extend his temporary visitors’ visa.

BI tourist visa section (TVS) Chief Raymond Remigio said that Oh was accosted after frontliner personnel Mark Vallejo and Lourdes Maliksi discovered that he has an active derogatory record.

Oh is the subject of a summary deportation order issued by the BI after having been charged for being a fugitive from justice.  A warrant of arrest against Oh has been issued by the Korean government for arrangement of commercial sex acts, and his passport has already been revoked.

Remigio said that the subject was immediately arrested, and is now temporarily detained in the BI’s Warden Facility in Bicutan, Taguig.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco lauded the personnel involved in the arrest, and warned foreign nationals not to attempt to use the country to evade facing their crimes.

“We have close coordination with foreign governments who send us information about wanted fugitives,” said Tansingco.  “These fugitives face arrest, deportation and blacklisting,” he warned.

Meanwhile, BI successfully deported 180 Chinese nationals at the Ninoy Aquino International airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 last week.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said that the said Chinese nationals were among those arrested in an operation led by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime (PAOCC) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) in Pasay City.

The foreigners, found within the premises of Smart Web Technology Corp., were said to have been involved in human trafficking activities such as prostitution and labor-exploitation.

“Their activities are contrary to local laws and public interest, hence making them undesirable aliens,” said Tansingco.

A summary deportation order was issued by the BI against the 180 for being undocumented and undesirable aliens.

Meanwhile, BI reported the arrest of a French pedophile wanted by authorities in Paris, for a string of criminal cases involving sexual offenses against children.

The BI’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) identified the alien fugitive as Theddy Douglas Tissier, 42, who was arrested last December 12 along Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City, by operatives of BI-FSU.
