Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco commended an employee for returning a bag of cash and pieces of jewelry at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
In a statement, Tansingco said he was recently made aware of an incident last August 19, when a BI Border Control and Intelligence Unit (BCIU) member discovered an unattended bag near the e-gates at the arrival area.
The BCIU member, identified as Lino Hijada, found that the bag contained Japanese Yen which was later found to amount to Php 80,000 as well as jewelry and various gadgets. He immediately reported the matter to the duty supervisor who coordinated with Air Asia ground staff.
Together with the airline staff, they located the owner and was able to return her belongings. The owner reportedly arrived from Japan and misplaced her bag after immigration proceedings.
Tansingco commended Hijada for serving as a good example of professionalism among BI employees.
“As government employees, we are expected to perform our duties with integrity and professionalism,” said Tansingco. “We hope this serves as a good example to our personnel, and remind them that the Bureau is still made up with many good men and women who remain honest in their work,” he added.
Cavite bettor wins P147-M in 6/49 draw
In Silang, Cavite, the lucky bettor won over P147 million jackpot prize in the Super Lotto 6/49 draw this Sunday, October 15, 2023.
On the website of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), it was stated that one won the Super Lotto 6/49 after predicting the numbers that came out as 47-35-02-13-38-17.
Its total prize reached P147,354,716.40.
On PCSO’s Facebook page, it was stated that there were 40 bettors who won the 2nd prize with a prize of P50,000.00.
Meanwhile, no one hit the same draw as Ultra Lotto 6/58, whose numbers came out as 56-53-40-06-35-42, with a prize of P49,500,000.00.
However, there were two 2nd prize winners with an equivalent prize of P120,000.00.
This Monday night, Oct. 16, there is a ball for Grand Lotto with a prize of P29.7 million, and Megalotto 6/45 with a jackpot prize of P8.9 million.
