BBM, Sara Duterte still lead latest Pulse Asia Survey

According to the most recent Pulse Asia survey, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (BBM) stayed on top among presidential contenders a week before the May 2022 national and municipal elections.

Marcos’ rating remained stable at 56 percent from the March 17 to 21, 2022 survey, according to the data revealed on Monday.

Vice President Leni Robredo, on the other hand, is still in second place with 23%, down 1% from the previous poll.

Meanwhile, Senator Manny Pacquiao has displaced Manila Mayor Isko Moreno from third position. Pacquiao’s rating improved to 7% from 6% in the March poll, while Moreno’s decreased from 8% to 4%.

Senator Panfilo Lacson’s approval rating remained at 2%.

Ernie Abella (1 percent), Faisal Mangondato (1 percent), Leody de Guzman (0.3 percent), Norberto Gonzales (0.1 percent), and Jose Montemayor Jr. joined Lacson in the poll (0.1 percent ).

Face-to-face interviews were conducted among 2,800 respondents in the current Pulse Asia Survey, who were all registered voters aged 18 and up. The margin of error is set at 2%.

“If the upcoming May 2022 elections were held today, who would you vote for as president of the Philippines?” the respondents were asked, according to Pulse Asia.

Meanwhile, Sara Duterte, the mayor of Davao City, has maintained her lead in the latest Pulse Asia vice-presidential poll.

Pulse Asia announced their vice presidential poll results a week before Election Day, with Duterte leading with a 55 percent rate. Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III came in second with 18 percent.

Senator Francis Pangilinan came in third with 16%, followed by Dr. Willie Ong with 3% and Manny Lopez with 1%.

According to Pulse Asia, the survey has a 2 percent error margin at the 95 percent confidence level.

BBM and Davao City Mayor also topped the Pulse Asia survey for the presidential and vice-presidential races in March.

Based on the survey conducted on February 18-23 and released on Monday, 60% of those surveyed said they would vote for Marcos as president if the polls were held on that date.

Marcos also got the same score in the Pulse Asia survey conducted on January 19-24.

Vice President Leni Robredo followed with 15%, third was Manila Mayor Isko Moreno with 10%.
