Arci Muñoz and JM De Guzman played a prank on their fans after the two pretended that they became a couple after being best friends for years.
On Instagram Sunday, Arci shared a photo with the whole family in Boracay and a teaser video that showed JM De Guzman handing her a bouquet and telling her, “alam kong matagal na tayo mag-bestfriend pero puwede bang manligaw?”
“Just really glad that the whole family was able to witness this beautiful moment,” the actress wrote on the caption and used the hashtags #mayforever #frombestfriendstolovers and #righttime.
Netizens were quick to fall for the prank and sent their wishes to the “couple.”
However, the actual vlog showed it was Arci’s brother who was proposing and not JM.
In the continuation of the video, Arci jokingly answered JM’s question if he could court her. She said “No” and pretended to kick him multiple times.
Arci then handed the bouquet to her brother Manolet, who gave it to his partner Kris.
Manolet bent down on one knee and asked his partner to marry him.

At the end of the video, Arci congratulated her brother and his partner, “Congratulations, Manolet & Kris.”
Arci Muñoz also put a disclaimer saying the video was shot before ECQ.
In an interview last June 2020, JM De Guzman admitted he had a crush on Muñoz back when they first met in college.
Arci, however, has said that she doesn’t want to risk their friendship.
Bestfriends Arci Muñoz and JM De Guzman starred in a Filipino romantic comedy film “Last Fool Show” written and directed by Eduardo Roy Jr. with the film producer and current ABS-CBN Corporation president Carlo Katigbak. It was filmed on Boracay island.
The two also underwent basic citizen military training to become Air Force reservists together.
In 2019, Muñoz broke up with her non-showbiz boyfriend Anthony Ng.
Meanwhile, JM has been linked to his “Araw Gabi” co-star Barbie Imperial. He also had a relationship with Jessie Mendiola who is now married with Luis Manzano.
