An American wanted in Minnesota on child pornography charges has landed in Guam after being deported from the Philippines.
Gary James Dokulil, aged 40, was arrested in Guam today (Monday, May 20), en route to the US mainland to face justice for his alleged crimes.
As we reported in February, the 40-year-old was arrested at his Clark Field residence in Angeles City. He has since been held at the Bureau of Immigration’s Bicutan detention centre in Taguig City awaiting deportation.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said the US embassy sought the bureau’s help in locating Dokulil after a warrant for his arrest was issued from a District Court in Minnesota in January.
“He will be deported for posing risk to public safety and security as his presence here presents a threat to our Filipino children anyone of who could be his next victim,” he said.
Since arriving in Guam, petition for his removal has been filed in the District Court of the American dependency. According to the Guam Daily Post, he will remain in custody awaiting an identity hearing on Friday.
According to January’s complain, the FBI accused Dokulil of distributing child pornography to an undercover officer via an online file sharing network.
In April 2018, authorities allegedly found him in possession of child pornography entitled “pre-teen, hard core”.
Investigators discovered videos of girls as young as four engaged in sexual acts. In one case, a victim aged between eight and12 was abused while her hands and legs were bound with duct tape.
Dokulil’s travel and records revealed that he had travelled from Minneapolis to Manila at least eight times since 2010.
During this time, he married two Philippine women. However, it is believed they were both minors when he first met them.
