72-year-old William Mitchell of Chicago and 10 others were hurt in a transporter van collision involving a truck in Nabas, Aklan, on Wednesday.
Mr Mitchell, who is temporarily staying in Borocay Island and the driver of the van Armondo Macayan of Hamtic, Antique, along with nine other Filipino passengers were hurt in the accident at 4.15pm on the National Highway in Barangay Habana.

The head-on collision was due to the van driver partially occupying the opposite lane after he tried to avoid hitting a school’s “slow down” sign.
The passengers of the van were rushed to the Ibajay District Hospital – three were later transported to Kalibo Hospital for further treatment.
