Ambuklao, Ipo dams release water due to TS Pepito

Ipo and Ambuklao dams opened gates on Wednesday morning to release water amid the heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm Pepito.

As of 6 am, Ipo Dam in Bulacan opened its Gate 1 at 0.20 meters, the data from weather bureau PAGASA said. Ipo Dam’s reservoir water level was at 101.05 meters at the time. It is above the normal high water level of 101 meters.

The Ambuklao Dam in Benguet also opened one gate open as of 6 am at 0.5 meters. Its water level was at 745.06 meters as of 6 a.m. This is a few meters away from the normal high water level of 752 meters.

Meanwhile, the PAGASA Hydro-Meteorological Division announced that Magat Dam in Isabela would release water at 1 pm on Wednesday, said a report on Dobol B sa News TV.

Ambuklao, Ipo dams release water due to TS Pepito

Only Caliraya and Binga dams showed a decrease in water level compared to Tuesday’s readings.

According to Pagasa’s severe weather bulletin issued at 8 am today, Pepito is forecast to move westward over the West Philippine Sea today before slowing down and turning northwestward tomorrow.
