Alan Cayetano will push for enactment of P10K ayuda per family

Senator Alan Cayetano said he will file a bill for one-time cash aid of P10,000 to each Filipino family.

Cayetano announced this at the oath-taking ceremony of elected local officials of Taguig City.

However, he clarified that the “10K Ayuda” Bill needs action not only in the Senate but also in the House of Representatives and Malacañang.

“Sa mga nagba-bash sa 10k ayuda, kung kaya ko lang silang bigyan ng tig-sampung libo, binigay ko na sa kanila. Pero sa katotohanan ito’y isang legislative proposal,” explained Alan Cayetano.

(To those who bash the 10k aid, if I could only give them ten thousand each, I would have given it to them. But in reality, it is a legislative proposal.)

“So ang hinihingi ko po doon sa mga tumutuligsa sa programang Sampung Libong (Pag-asa) during the pandemic, tumulong na lang kayo,” he added.

(So what I’m asking of those who criticized the Sampung Libo (Pag-asa) program during the pandemic, just help.)

Cayetano asked Taguig-Pateros Rep. Ricardo ‘Ading’ Cruz Jr. and Taguig 2nd District Rep. Maria Amparo “Pammy” Zamora, to file a counterpart bill in the House.

“Today may I take the opportunity to ask that two of my pet bills, ‘yung moral uprightness at y’ung sampung libong ayuda, ay i-file din ng ating partner sa Kongreso ni Congresswoman Pammy at Congressman Ading para sabay po lumarga ang ating mga pet bills,” said Alan Cayetano.

When Alan Cayetano was still a congressman of Taguig, he filed a House version of the proposal in February 2021, but it was not included in the Bayanihan 3 package.

He also established the “Sampung Libong Pag-asa” program in May 2021 but stopped on February 7, 2022, due to the Commission on Elections’ policy on running in the election.

Alan Cayetano was born into and raised in a Taguig-based political family. His older sister, Pia, is a sitting senator; his younger brother, Lino, is the mayor of Taguig; and his wife, Lani, is the representative for Taguig’s 2nd district. His father was the late former senator Rene Cayetano.
