Seven police staff dismissed after failing drugs test in Angeles City

Seven police officers in Central Luzon were recommended for dismissal after failing their recent mandatory drug tests in Pampanga.

The seven officers’ names have been withheld from the media pending the results of the dismissal proceedings. Those results will be conducted by Discipline Law and Order Section of PRO3.

One of the seven officers who tested positive was a member of the backup team assigned to secure the safety of the regional director of PRO3, the other six were assigned to the Angeles City police force.

The random drug test with police personnel in the Pampanga region was inline with the new incoming PNP chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rose – he too was subjected to a drug test after assuming office on July 1.

In other related news, 14 people were arrested in buy-bust operations by Mabalacat police.

Pampana Police said 32 sachets of shabu, paraphernalia and marked money were seized during a drug raid on Orchids St. in Pineda Subdivision, Mabalacat.

Since July, over 500 drug users and dealers have surrendered to authorities in Arayat, Pampanga and Angeles City. In Arayat alone, over 450 people from 30 small villages surrendered to the Mayor.

Those who surrendered will refrain from engaging in illegal drugs and swear to assist the local police in combating illegal drugs throughout Arayat.

Angeles City had 107 drug users surrender, many by their parents and relatives.

Those who surrendered have also agreed to undergo rehabilitation for their drug use issues.
