A 5.1 kilograms (kg) baby boy was born in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, this month by normal delivery.
Baby Marion Jae, born on December 17, is the fifth child of Stella Aquino, 37.
“Parang normal lang po. Wala naman pong ibang naramdaman, normal na nagbubuntis po,” Aquino told on ABS-CBN News about her pregnancy with Marion Jae.
“[Nasa] 5.1 kilos po, parang normal lang po na pagle-labor. Wala nman pong ibang naramdaman,” she added about her experience of giving birth to the child.
Aquino said her eldest son is 17 years old, and her other children are 15, 13, and 10.
He said baby Marion is the biggest of all her children. “Masaya po, na kahit mahirap po, nung nakita ko po s’ya at narinig ko po ang iyak n’ya,” she said.
“Masayang masaya po ako, at pasalamat po ako sa Taas na hindi kami pinabayaan.”
In 2019, the median birth weight of children born in the country in that year was 3 kgs., According to the Philippine Statistics Authority.
In September, another “heavy” baby weighing 5.2 kilograms or 11.46 pounds was born in Tarlac via normal delivery.

5.1kg baby boy born in Bulacan
Aside from weighing 5.2 kilograms, Baby King is up to 49 centimeters in size.
A heavy baby boy was also born via normal delivery in Butuan City, weighing 11.4-pounds or over 5.1 kilograms.
The baby was born via normal delivery by his mother at Janicolyn’s Holy Angels Birthing Home in Butuan on September 11.
In 2019, a total of 1,673,923 live births were registered, which is equivalent to a crude birth rate (CBR) of 15.6 or 16 births per thousand population.
On average, about 4,586 babies were born daily in the Philippines. This is equivalent to about 191 babies born per hour or approximately three (3) babies born per minute.
In July, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) announced that based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH), the total population of the Philippines as of 01 May 2020 is at 109,035,343.
