A 4-year-old girl was found dead after getting drowned in a kiddie pool while his father was busy having fun with his coworkers in a resort in Brgy. Caggay, Tuguegarao City, Saturday.
According to the report to City Chief of Police Lt. Colonel George Cablarda, the child named Kasandra Kate Coronan, resident of Ugac Norte, Tuguegarao City, was taken by his father to a night swimming gathering with his coworkers in Cagayan Valley Medical Center at Chateau Leonor Resort in Brgy. Caggay, Tuguegarao City.
The father left the child in a 2-feet deep kiddie pool together with two other kids at around 7:45 in the morning.
According to reports, the father did not know that the resort staff already found his 4-year-old daughter dead in the pool. The girl was found lying at the pool 15 minutes after her father left him. Responders immediately gave the child CPR before they rushed her to Roland Guzman Medical Center. However, the child was declared dead-on-arrival.
Authorities are investigating the resort’s lifeguards as to why they did not notice the child was drowning. They were also looking for possible cases to be filed against the resort for negligence.
