Police arrested four Chinese nationals who allegedly tried to abduct an 18-year-old female in Makati.

According to the victim under the name “Gella,” one of the suspects held her arm and tried to take her inside a taxi in Einstein Street, Barangay San Isidro.

She said she resisted and fought, which called the attention of the barangay security who then chased the suspects.

Authorities arrested the four Chinese nationals, but their other two companions escaped.

The suspects are living in nearby city Pasay and are aged 22 to 28.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.

In December 2019, a Chinese woman working at a POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators) was also abducted by his fellow Chinese in Makati City. The incident happened at the corner of Paseo de Roxas Avenue and Nieva Street opposite the Salustiana D. Ty Building.

Investigations revealed that either or her live-in partner owed a large sum of money from fellow Chinese.

Abu Sayyaf group kidnaps 5 Indonesians in Malaysian waters

The Philippine military reported on Sunday that Islamic State-linked Abu Sayyaf group kidnapped 5 Indonesian fishers in Malaysian waters last week.

Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana, chief of the military’s Western Mindanao Command, said the terrorist group abducted 8 Indonesians in Sabah on Thursday. They then released three, but the remaining five were probably brought to the southern Philippine province of Sulu.

Sulu is known to be Abu Sayyaf’s headquarters and stronghold.

The Philippine military clashed with Abu Sayyaf members in Sulare island in Parang Sulu on Saturday. The soldiers killed one militant and destroyed a speed boat, which they believe the terrorists were using in the kidnapping.
