4 provinces in Calabarzon low risk in COVID-19: OCTA

Four out of 5 provinces in the Calabarzon region can be considered “low risk” in COVID-19, the OCTA Research Group said Wednesday.

According to data released by the group, the positivity rate in Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon will no longer exceed 10 percent. It is also said that hospitals’ use is less than 30 percent.

The positivity rate is the number of people who test positive for COVID-19 per test.

Quezon has also reportedly reached a 4 percent positivity rate, less than the 5 percent benchmark of the World Health Organization to control the spread of the disease in one area.

Quezon’s health care utilization rate is only nine percent, while the average daily attack rate is 0.79.
