3.4 million Toyota vehicles for recall due to air bags defects

Toyota Motor Corp announced on Tuesday that it would recall around 3.4 million vehicles around the globe due to air bags defects.

The renowned car manufacturer said the said vehicles have an electronic glitch, which can result in air bags not deploying in crashes.

The Toyota recall included 2.9 million U.S. vehicles, covers 2011-2019 Corolla, 2011-2013 Matrix, 2012-2018 Avalon, and 2013-2018 Avalon Hybrid vehicles.

It explained that the vehicles could have problems with its air bag control computer. As a result, the air bag would not be completely deployed or not be used in case of a crash.

Toyota dealers will install a noise filter between the airbag control module and its wire harness if needed.
