Authorities are now investigating what happened to 2 men found dead on the boundary of Apayao and Cagayan provinces.
Authorities identified one of the victims as Jessie James Ola-ao, 21, and a resident of Tabuk City, Kalinga. Another victim, aged 15 and also from Tabuk, was not named.
During the police investigation from Conner, Apayao, several policemen were jogging on Friday when they saw the victims on the side of the road on the boundary of Barangay Buluan (Conner) and Barangay Cato of Tuao, Cagayan.
The victims’ hands and feet were allegedly tied with tape and their heads were wrapped in cellophane.
Scene of the Crime Operative also saw the victims with head and body wounds, possibly caused by gunshot wounds.
When the police talked to the family of the 15-year-old victim, it was learned that the victim was last seen alive on May 6.
He allegedly said he would attend a wedding with Ola-ao.
Authorities are now investigating the motive and identity of those who killed the two men.
Some drivers and conductors begging because they have lost income
Several drivers and conductors of passenger buses in EDSA are already begging due to lack of income, Darlene Cay reported in Unang Balita on Monday.
It allegedly started when the fare of authorized persons outside of residence or APOR on the EDSA Carousel Bus was made free a month ago.
If drivers and conductors used to board the bus to collect the fare, now they board to beg.
“Limang linggo na kaming ginugutom ng gobyerno kaya ngayon humihingi kami ng tulong-suporta,” said Philip Elequin, a conductor. “Labag man sa kalooban namin ito, kapit na kami sa patalim.”
Affected drivers and conductors complained that since there was a free ride they were no longer allowed to work. The government also does not seem to have a program for them.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has yet to respond to the grievances of drivers and conductors.
