2 Indian nationals rob, shoot fellow Indian in Las Piñas

Two Indian nationals fell in jail after robbing and shooting a fellow Indian national in Las Piñas City.

A report by Mai Bermudez in Unang Balita on Wednesday, CCTV of Barangay Talon Singko last Sunday morning, showed the motorcyclists passing by on Guyabano Street.

A few minutes later, the suspects were already on the motorbike.

CCTV did not capture the shooting of the victim Sukchain Singh, a 32-year-old Indian national and businessman.

Another video shows Singh lying on Pomelo Street of the said barangay.

Two residents helped Singh get on a motorcycle and rushed him to the hospital.

The victim is currently recovering after sustaining a wound on the left side of the abdomen.

The Las Piñas City Police investigation revealed that Singh was collecting loan payments when the incident occurred.

“Lumapit sa kanya ‘yung mga suspek at hinoldup siya. Pagka-holdup sa kanya, nag-resist siya at tumakbo siya papunta mismo roon sa motor niya. Kaya lang binaril siya sa kaliwang parte ng kanyang stomach. Bumagsak siya,” said Police Colonel Jaime Santos, chief of Las Piñas City Police.

(The suspects approached and robbed him. Holding him up, he resisted, and he ran right there on his motor. That’s why he was shot in the left side of his stomach. He fell.)

P20,000 worth of money was taken from the victim.

CCTV also showed the taxi ride of one of the culprits, so authorities tracked them down in a subdivision in Parañaque City.

The suspects, identified as Manpreet Singh and Mandeep Singh, are also Indian nationals.

According to Santos, the authorities recovered the gunman’s jacket, bonnet, helmet, and motor license plate number of the suspects.

Police have not determined if the victim knew the suspects, who did not give their statements.

The Southern Police District considers the incident an isolated case.

Last month, Bureau of Immigration (BI) agents arrested an  for illegally engaging in a money-lending  in Cavite.

BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. identified the  as Bahg Singh, 48, who was arrested by operatives of the BI Intelligence Division Regional Intelligence Operation Unit IV-A and IV-B on Friday in Brgy. Inchican in Silang, Cavite.
