Authorities on Thursday arrested two Cameroon nationals and a Filipina involved in the black dollar scam in Makati City.
One of those arrested was Cameroon national Chubmh Ngeibuh Festus alias James Morgan, 37, according to John Consulta in an exclusive 24 Oras Weekend report on GMA News this Saturday.
The other Cameroon national suspect was identified as Etimbe Eyonga.
Four operatives came together to handcuff Festus when he resisted the arrest after authorities raided their hotel.
Filipina suspect Jinky Candelaria was also arrested.
Police recovered P3 million marked money from the suspects.
According to authorities, the Cameroon nationals were making dollars using machines, chemicals, and black paper.
The suspects target businessmen in the province whom they encouraged to invest in.
One of the victims reported the illegal activity to the authorities. Police said the suspects took more than P4 million from their victims.
“Ito kasing nagreklamo, galing pa sa probinsiya. So nakikita natin na nag-e-expand ‘yung nagiging biktima nitong grupo ng mga dayuhan na ito,” said Atty. Joel Tovera, chief of NBI Anti-Organized and Transnational Crime Division (NBI AOTCD).
Festus, however, denied the allegations that he was involved in the black dollar scam.
“No, no, no, no. I am not selling anything. I’m not taking anything from him. Not one peso. Ask him,” he said.
The arrested suspects are facing estafa case.

Interpellation on the ABS-CBN franchise ended in committee level
The House Committee on Legislative Franchises and the House Committee on Good Governance and Public Accountability ended the interpellation period during the hearing of the ABS-CBN franchise on Monday.
The 12th day of the hearing centered on the alleged biased reporting of ABS-CBN.
In the interpellation of Cong. Rufus Rodriguez, the Commission on Elections clarified ABS-CBN has no pending case in their law department.
There were also no complaints against ABS-CBN when it came to the Omnibus Election Code, and no political party or candidate complained to COMELEC about ABS-CBN.
At the end of the interpellation of Cong. Rufus Rodriguez, he emphasized that ABS-CBN has shown no political agenda and did not favor candidates.
