Pfizer’s 2.2 million vaccines from COVAX’s vaccine-sharing facility are scheduled to arrive Thursday night.
According to vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr., Pfizer vaccines are only for the A1, A2, and A3 categories right now.
It can be vaccinated to those in the A5 or the indigent population when vaccination opens in that sector – based on the World Health Organization’s prioritization framework.
A total of 210,000 doses will be sent to Metro Davao and Metro Cebu. The rest, local governments, will share in the NCR Plus Bubble.
But because Pfizer’s storage is delicate, only a select few will be provided.
“Ide-deploy natin dito sa NCR Plus and then sa mga areas na ready tumanggap ng Pfizer kasi hindi natin puwede natin ibigay sa lahat ng LGU ang Pfizer kasi nakikita natin marami tayong rotating brownout and then meron tayo tinatawag natin typhoon season ngayon at ayaw natin meron tayo mabulok o masira na vaccine,” said Galvez.

2.2 million Pfizer vaccines allocated for A1 to A3 groups
On the other hand, Galvez assured that the pandemic task force has a plan in case of a rotational power interruption.
Meanwhile, an additional 1 million doses of Sinovac vaccines purchased by the government from China have arrived.
In total, the country has already received 7.5 million doses of such vaccines. In number, 1 million is from Chinese donations.
It will be distributed in areas with high COVID-19 cases.
There will be 1.5 million doses of Sinovac on June 17.
Meanwhile, the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) in the Mandaluyong City Prosecutors’ Office has filed charges against the two suspects in the controversial sale of COVID-19 vaccines.
According to PNP-CIDG Director, BGen. Albert Ferro, charges of violating article 315 of the Revised Penal Code or estafa, violating the anti-red tape law of 2007, and violating the anti-cybercrime law were filed against Cycle Cedric Bonifacio and Melvin Polo Gutierrez.
