A 100-year-old grandmother in Tigbauan town, Iloilo tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Dr. Josefa Monserate, municipal health officer, took the grandmother to the hospital after feeling unwell and coughing.
On February 9, the grandmother underwent a swab test, and it turned out that she was positive for the virus.
It was found out that the grandmother lives with her 3 grandchildren.
One of his grandchildren, who works in Tigbauan municipality, also underwent a swab test after experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
The 3 grandchildren are already in the quarantine facility of the town and the grandmother is in the hospital.
She is the oldest recorded COVID patient in the said town.

The oldest known COVID-19 survivor in the Philippines was a 106-year-old male living in Barangay Lumbia from Cagayan De Oro City. He recovered in October 2020.
Meanwhile, in April 2020, a 95-year-old grandfather in Mandaluyong City fought and survived resisted coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which is said to have a more severe effect on the elderly.
Grandpa Cresencio Junio thanked the health workers who took care of him at Mandaluyong City Medical Center.
“Maraming salamat sa pag-aalaga sa akin [Thank you for taking care of me],” said Lolo Cresencio.
According to her daughter Rosalina, they took Grandpa Cresencio to the hospital just to replace his catheter. However, they were advised to bring their father to the emergency room.
Meanwhile, the arrival of the first batch of Pfizer vaccines from the World Health Organization’s COVAX facility will be slightly delayed, according to vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr.
According to Galvez, Pfizer vaccines are expected to arrive in the third or fourth week of February. It was first mentioned that vaccinations are expected in mid-February, according to the World Health Organization.
“The promise of the (World Health Organization) before is second week. But there are documents that needed to be submitted before its arrival. Medyo ma-delay. Mag-slide tayo ng another week,” Galvez said at a Senate hearing.
“Considering the agreement medyo made-delay ng 3rd week of February. Pero definitely it will be on February,” he added.
