Carlo Aquino, the star of Kapamilya, has finally spoken out about the numerous speculations linking him to actress Charlie Dizon.
Aquino announced on Friday that he is seeing Dizon, barely a few weeks after rumors of a romance between them arose online.
During a press conference for Star Magic’s partnership with Mavx Productions, where Aquino is promoting a film, the actor acknowledged that he is dating Dizon and that they are still getting to know each other.
According to him, it began after they came back to the Philippines following Star Magic’s US tour in August of last year.
“Nagkasama kami sa ‘A Soldier’s Heart.’ Nagkakilala kami do’n. Tapos nag-US tour, mas nakilala ko siya. Pag-uwi, ayun (tuloy-tuloy na),” Aquino said in an interview.
He also confirmed that he celebrated the year 2023 in La Union with Dizon and his family.
“Yung brother ko ‘di nakauwi from Sydney at saka ‘yung wife niya ng 2 years dahil nga sa pandemic. So pag-uwi nila, ‘yung mga relatives ng sister-in-law ko pumunta,” he shared.

In late December, rumors of a budding romance between the two celebrities began to circulate after they were spotted holding hands in a group photo.
The photographs, which were taken over a “holiday meal,” depicted Dizon with a group of pals, including Aquino. However, fans were quick to note the arms-entwined love stance of the two Kapamilya actors.
The speculations were reinforced further when they were observed in La Union, as evidenced by a local restaurant’s official Facebook page.
Aquino shared a photo with Dizon in November, but it appeared to be a still from their recently announced film, “Love on a Budget” by Black Sheep.

After more than three years together, Carlo and his ex-partner Trina Candaza ended their relationship earlier this year.
In April, the actor announced their breakup in an interview with ABS-CBN News, putting to rest months of rumors about their romance. They have a daughter, Mithi.
